What is the judging process?
Judging is coordinated by Corporate Communication and Marketing within the Department of Education, Training and the Arts.
The judging panels consist of at least three members sourced from business, industry and the public sector.
Individual and employer categories
Panels will select finalists and winners for each region and the state level based on written submissions and phone interviews. Regional winners will be announced at the six regional final presentation ceremonies in July–August 2009.
Regional winners in the five individual award categories are automatically selected as state finalists and go on to compete for the state award.
Regional winners in the two employer award categories are further short-listed with three organisations selected as state finalists to go on to compete for the state award.
State level only organisation categories
Panels will select three state finalists and winners based on written submissions. All state finalists are announced in August 2009 and winners will be announced at the state final award presentation ceremony in September 2009.
Networking, exposure and being profiled as a leading achiever in training are just some of the advantages of entering these fantastic awards. But above all, it is a unique opportunity to gain well deserved recognition for your efforts, and share those success stories with peers and other professionals. State winners will have the added opportunity of competing against the nation’s best at the Australian Training Awards, with fantastic prizes to be won.
Winning an individual award can give your career a great kick-start, open many doors and you can win great prizes such as cash and computers.
For organisations, winning an award helps to raise your profile in your community, attract more customers and establish your organisation as an employer or training provider of choice.
