Congratulations to our Queensland Australian Training Award Winners!

Queensland has taken home four of the nation's most prestigious training accolades at the Australian Training Awards held in Canberra on Thursday 19 November 2009.

The Queensland winners were:

  • Craig Folker - Australian Apprentice of the Year (Runner Up)
  • Blue Dog Training Pty Ltd (Queensland) Small Training Provider of the Year
  • Blue Dog Training Pty Ltd (Queensland) Innovative Business Award - recognising an organisation that has demonstrated excellence in the use of information and communication technology to deliver education and training programs to clients and employees
  • Queensland Alumina Limited (Queensland) Industry Award - recognising a commitment by employers to training within their own industry

All Queensland finalists were highly regarded by the judges and the field of candidates were of a very high standard. The other Queensland finalists competing for awards were:

  • Michael Pope, Certificate IV in Competitive Manufacturing, Applied Training Solutions
  • Ariella Anderson, Diploma of Visual Art, Wide Bay Institute of TAFE
  • Priyanka Luecke, Certificate III in Business Administration, Martin College
  • Vincent Schrieber, Certificate II in Water Industry Operations, Simmonds & Bristow
  • Gilkatho Pty Ltd
